Three products, three risk profiles

A higher percentage usually comes with different conditions or additional risk.

On-chain staking

On-chain staking

Your coins help secure a network and the reward comes from that network. The main additional risks are slashing and the failure of any company holding your coins in custody. More about on-chain staking.

Liquid staking

Liquid staking

You deposit into a protocol and receive a tradable token representing the staked position. This adds smart contract, liquidity and depeg risk to the underlying staking risk. More about liquid staking.

Lending

Lending

This is not staking. You lend your coins to a provider, which pays interest from its own resources. If the provider fails, you may be an unsecured creditor and could lose the full deposit. More about lending.

TRX staking provides resources and voting power

TRON uses staking for more than network security. Stake 2.0 locks TRX for Bandwidth or Energy and also creates TRON Power. Bandwidth covers ordinary transaction data, Energy is mainly used by smart contracts, and TRON Power lets holders vote for Super Representatives producing blocks.

The staking reward does not arise merely because TRX is frozen. You use TRON Power to vote for a Super Representative and may receive voter rewards according to that candidate’s distribution rules.

Staking through Trust Wallet

Trust Wallet supports TRON Stake 2.0 and lets you choose Energy or Bandwidth. Open TRX, select staking, choose the resource and sign the transaction. Then select a Super Representative for voting. Keep an unstaked TRX balance for operations not covered by free resources.

Energy versus Bandwidth is not a choice between two APYs. It determines which network usage the stake supports. Frequent smart contract users may value Energy, while simple transfers depend more on Bandwidth.

Resources can also be delegated to another account under network rules without transferring the underlying TRX. Check who controls that usage and how the delegation is removed later.

The waiting period starts when you unstake

TRX is not freely transferable while staked. Under the current Stake 2.0 rules, an unstake request starts a 14-day waiting period before withdrawal. Market movement or another provider’s offer cannot shorten that protocol period. Verify it in the current wallet because governance can change network parameters.

Voting can also affect the sequence. Positions linked to votes and resources must be processed correctly before staked TRX is released. Check how much is actually available and which transactions remain pending.

Assessing a Super Representative

A displayed voter reward is not a fixed network promise. Review operational performance, how the representative distributes rewards, past changes to that policy and voting concentration. TRON has a limited active group of Super Representatives, so delegating to the largest parties increases concentration.

The official TRON documentation covers staking, voting and rewards and Stake 2.0. Trust Wallet explains how TRX staking and resources appear in its wallet.

Where these rates come from

We collect rates directly from providers through their APIs or official websites and check them daily. Every rate shows when it was last checked. Providers can change terms without notice, so confirm the current rate before depositing.

Crypto returns are never guaranteed. On-chain staking can involve slashing, liquid staking adds smart contract and depeg risk, and lending can expose your entire deposit if a provider fails. In every category, a fall in the coin price can exceed the rewards earned.
